Club Championships for 2019 was played last Saturday in the very best of overhead and course conditions.
It was great to see so many out supporting the final few holes of the 36 hole groups.
The Senior Mens went down to the 37 hole when Terry slotted a great putt for a two. Runner-up Keith Millington.
The Intermediate Div. (36 Holes) won by Mike Hayes over Kevin Smith. The Junior Div. (36 Holes) was won by Richard Baker over Ron Knight. First year 18 hole golfer Ryan Courtney won a close (18 hole) game over Veteran Dave Milner in the Super Junior Div.
Womens Golf Championships were contested in only 3 divisions this year with only 1 player qualifying in the Silver Div. Bronze Div. 1 (36 holes) was played between Soon Park and Pam Millington, won by Soon Park.
Bronze 11 (18 holes) was contested between Christine Miller and Colleen Matthews, won by Colleen.
Bronze 111 (18 Holes) was played out by Francis Nicol
and Margaret Gray who won this on the 18th.
In all a great day. The club introduced its new Happy Day policy with discounted drinks.
The club emptied out at an all-time late Saturday at 5pm

PREBBLE CUP It was another long day on Sunday when the club hosted the second round of the Prebble/Tolich Trophies on behalf of the Waikato Assn. 64 players took the field at 0800 and with 36 holes needing to be played, was not concluded until after 5pm. Trev left the building at 7pm
Many many thanks to the ladies who manned the kitchen having to feed the players twice during the day.
Theresa, Jane, Pam and Mike (only to make sure he got his piece of carrot cake).Terry of course in the bar. The compliments by the players on the course conditions and the days handling/hosting was very very complimentary.

The Paeroa Clubs Prebble Cup Team playing their second game at Walton won a very tight game over Hauraki 61/2 , 51/2 to take them to the third round.
The next round is to be played on Oct 6th and the current squad will be depleted somewhat and we need some xtras in the form of seniors (5 - 14.5 Index) plus a couple of juniors (14.5-24 Index).
The club is hosting the Dean Pentecost organised (Ohinemuri Club Sponsored) Ambrose on behalf of the Paeroa Fire brigade on that day also which cannot be changed.
If there is anybody at all who can see their way clear to making themselves available for even the morning or afternoon 18 holes on the day. Please, please make yourselves known to Terry or Bob Hearn as soon as possible. It would seem a pity to get this far and not be able to make a good fist of the next round. The Team will be playing TeAroha after they demolished Whangamata last week. The venue to be confirmed.
(The team defeated one neighbour and now to defeat another?)

**The only Trophy left to be played for this season is the Gilbert/Sarjant Salver over 2 weeks starting on Saturday 5th. Be prepared for something different- again.
(Select your own partners).
**The new tenants have moved into the house and will commence their other duties ie security and carts next week after induction by Terry
**The club is hosting a few groups over the next weeks the first this coming Wednesday when 16-18 Vets from KatiKati will be teeing off from 10am.
**Wednesday night Twilight Golf starts again after Labour weekend, so get your 3-4 person teams organised. We need some assistance in starting and bar duties. Would appreciate some volunteers also in this area
